A contemporary still life painting workshop with instructor Kristin-Armani Hill for ages 14-18. Learn to paint fruit and flowers using flat lay composition techniques. October 2 - November 20 (8 sessions). Are you ready to create a still-life painting? In this eight-week studio course, students will develop a finished still-life painting. Beginning with an exploration of composition and photography, students will learn how professional artists intentionally arrange objects to create visually compelling works. Using “exotic” fruits, tropical flowers, textured papers, and colorful backgrounds, students will design and photograph an original image. Then, they will translate it into an acrylic painting using traditional techniques, including canvas preparation, underpainting, drawing, color mixing, and layering. At the end of the course, students will have created a visually compelling painting that can be used in their portfolios. Are you ready to create a still-life painting?
